Welcome to the VIRTUAL PLANT DOCTOR.

We can provide you with a diagnosis to many plant related problems that horticulturists encounter during plant production. This is a trial service and is free (at the moment); its continued availabilty will depend on demand and the ability to process the requests for assistance.

WE cannot provide any guarantee of the turn around time to your enquiry as it depends on demand and if additional information is required from the sender.

Note Do not try and send the plant material from outside New Zealand!

To use this service you need to email the following details:

Your Name
full postal address
The growing conditions and recent weather conditions where the plant developed the problem.
Scientific name of the plant or the common name and a description of the plant as common names can be very misleading.
Type of plant: annual, perennial, herbaceous, bulbous, woody shrub or tree
Description of the problem (plant parts and type of damage)
Insect damage or Fungal/bacterial/virus/dont know potential cause

Do you have a digital image showing the problem? Can you email it ? This would be extremely helpful.
